This is the grave site of Walter Aston and his son. Walter's grave is on the left.
This is the marker at the base of Walter's grave that was donated by the Maryland State Society Daughters of the Colonial Wars. It reads " Here lyeth interred the body of Leitenant Colonell Walter Aston who died the 3rd April 1656. He was aged 49 years and lived in this country 23 years. Also here lyeth the body of Walter Aston the son of Leitenant Collonel Walter Aston who departed this life ye 29th of January 1663 aged 27 years and 7 months." (Note these dates do not agree with other dates found.)
This plaque reads " Site of the First Westover Parish Church, Charles City, Va., Established 1625 And the Cemetery, Persons Buried Here Include: Captaine Wm. Perry D 1637; Leftenant Colonell Walter Aston D 1656; And his son Walter Aston D 1666; Theodorick Bland D 1671; Mary Horsmanden Byrd, wife of D 1699; William Byrd D 1701; Benjamin Harrison, and his wife D 1710; Mrs. Elizabeth Harrison D 1734; (The Rev.) M. Charles Anderson D 1718; Mr. Wm. Willabe D 1723; Mrs. Evelyn Byrd D 1737. And others unknown. Marker places by Suffolk Chapter Va. Society Colonial Dames XVII Century 1985"
