The society is planning to purchase microfilm of newpapers for the counties surrounding Morgan Co. If you would like to contribute, the microfilm is $17 per role.

Morgan Co. early deed books (pre 1900) have been moved from the courthouse to the Archives Due to the brittle pages books A-Z and AA-ZZ must be copied by employees.


1860-1880 Circuit Court records have been found and are at the Archives.


Voter Registration records have been abstracted by the archives staff and the card index of about 90,000 entries will be open to the public. Because of private information the original records contain, the original recored will be destroyed.


Slave Abstract from the estate files have been completed by Clara Nell Howell and was typed by Barbara Gibson. It should be available soon.


American Oak & Leather Company records were recently purchased by the Archived. The Society paid $275 of the purchase price.
