GRAY
I am trying to get information on the family of my great-grandfather; Alonzo Bascom Gray (b:Oct 15, 1883 in AR). I was able to get from his death certificate that his parents are William M. and Rosaline (Bell) Gray. I was able to locate them in the 1880 census living in Mineral Springs with their family: William was born in 1840 possibly in LA and Rosaline was born in 1842 in Tennessee. They also had several children; Watson (b:1870), Blufus (b:1871), Walter (b:1873), Robert (b:1876), Columbus (b:1878), and Alonzo. There is the possiblity that additional children may exist. All of the children were born in Arkansas.Something happened to the parents about the mid 1880's and the children were dispersed to various homes/families (Alonzo was apparently quite young when this happened). I have tried every search method available and believe the probate records for Howard county may hold the key. I believe these were simple people and probably did not have a will. Does Howard county have records that would identify the date/cause of the parents death? Especially important is what happened to the children? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. 5153 Westminster Place St. Louis, MO 63108 Tel: (314) 367-5562

HOLLOWELL/HAMILTON
Charles Silas HOLLOWELL came to AR
from AL with his parents between 1850 and 1860. They settled first in Sevier,
then Little River County. He married around 1873 to someone named Minnie; the 1880 Little River census has them listed. Then he married a Minnie HAMILTON in 1884 in Little River County. Maybe the first Minnie came from a nearby county, since we have been unable to find her in either of the others. Can anyone help with this? Betty Hollowell
