McFARLAND
I am trying to find my ancestor in Independence. I hope you can help or provide a referral....I believe that the last known location we have for Benjamin McFarland, b. abt 1795 VA, is around Independence, Arkansas. He is selling land that he owned in Indiana. The timeframe is around 1860. We know he was living in Morgan Co, IN in Sept of 1854 when he and his third wife Synthia (whom he did not have in the 1850 census) sell land to Thomas Weddell. I also have the papers, power of attorney in October of 1857 that he is trying to collect about $156 for the land he sold three years before. He is living in Independence Co, AR. Howard County, Arkansas, Federal Land Records
CHANDLER
Joel Chandler and his in-laws the Clift family lived in the Rosedale Community from the mid 1870's until about 1920. Between 1893 and 1903 a number of the family died, and I have not been able to locate where they are buried. They attended Rosedale Baptist Church. Any information on cemeteries that they might have been buried will be appreciated. Our family would like to mark their graves.
BRADFORD
I am seeking information about my g-g-grandfather, Joseph Hamilton BRADFORD. Joseph was born in 1843 in GA. He came to AR in 1853 with his parents, and they settled in Prairie Co., later Lonoke Co. Joseph lived in the Howard Co. area near the end of his service as a Methodist minister, and served in Mineral Springs, Center Point, and Bingen prior to 1916. At that time he retired and purchased a home in Nashville. At this point in his life, Joseph was married to Mary Ella DICKEY, but had 9 surviving children from two earlier marriages. An obituary in a Methodist journal states that during his retirement he ran for office as chaplain of the State Senate, and lost. Joseph died in 1923 and Mary Ella in 1934. They are buried somewhere in or around Nashville; I have a photo of their double headstone, but no cemetery name. I'd like to know more about Joseph's service to the ministry, his retirement years, his run for office, and where he is buried.

HOWARD
According to "James H. Howard" by Russell P. Baker, Arkansas Historical Quarterly, Winter 1976, James H. Howard's father was Daniel Howard, "a native of South Carolina, who emigrated to Arkansas about 1853 and settled at Center Point . . . ." This information needs confirmation, though. At any rate, The information that James H. Howard's father was also named James H. is wrong. If anyone has information on James H. Howard, Rebecca J.
