Looking for the grave of my great-grandfather Andrew Jackson Hewett. He died 30 Aug. 1919 in Hot Springs. The AR death certificate and the Caruth Funeral Home Records indicate that his body was shipped to Nashville. His obituary in The Nashville News, Saturday, September 6, 1919 indicates that "Burial was had at Antioch, near here, Sunday." Does this cemetery still exist? Looking for information on James S. Stewart born in Dallas Co. Ala. and moved with family to Howard Co. after the Civil War. James and Sarah had 9 children 6 still living in 1900. Crumpton, Ray or Roy and Hezakial. They are the only ones I Know. James and Sarah probably married in Dallas or Wilcox Co. Ala. I know James recieved an Confederate Veterans pension or at least had applied for one in Ark. His # was 18945 and he was in Co.C 44th Ala.Div.I. James applied 08/12/1902. I have received my GGrandmothers civil war widows pension info (she applied in june of 1903 and did receive pension) and have discovered they were in Howard county propably as early as 1885 90. I have Sintha (Syntha, spelled Scinthy on civil war papers) Ann May and Alexander Newton Baker Married in Hempstead ar in 1860. They were living in Sebastian co Ar after the civil war next to John and Lucinda Pickard May. On the Pension records it gives my GGGrandfathers death as january 15, 1895 in howrd co. says after the close of the road. Proof of cvil war service for widow was signed by B.F. May of howard co. Buckrange ark. (this was probably her brother Benj F. as her father would have been appx 90 yrs old. Proof was also signed by John Henry Baker on Sebastian co Ar. His cousin. Interested in Sinthas death records and those of my GGGrandfather as well as B.F> May and his parents. I Have the death records of My g Grandparents. George Washington Baker and Mary Burton Baker.
