Census View has a NEW look and A NEW program!!!

You can now view our high resolution images with your own image viewer of your preference or download XNView (Requires less than 10 mb space) that is on each cd if you wish to download. XNVIEW is Windows XP and below compatable! You can zoom in, zoom out, lighten, darken, invert colors, rotate in small increments, choose the page number by the thumbnails or view by scrolling using the arrow buttons. Census View "new" version is now MAC compatable!!! You can view the images on your MAC photo imager that comes with a MAC. (sorry XNView does not have a MAC program).

Operating Instructions For the Old Label


Insert CD into CD drive.

If running Windows 3.1: Go to Windows File Manager. Log onto your CD drive by selecting the CD drive icon.

If running Windows 95 or higher: Double click on My Computer (in the upper left of the Main Win 95 screen).

Double click on the county you want to view. Double click Census.exe (in Win 3.1) Census (in Win 95)

The program defaults to a 14" monitor. If you are using anything larger select OPTIIONS then 15+" 16 million colors. If the bottom slide bar is hidden; make sure ALWAYS ON TOP is not checked under TASKBAR SETTINGS in Windows.

Under OPTIONS select SHOW PAGE NUMBER. (This will show the page number that you are currently on in the upper left of the screen)

Under OPTIONS select DISPLAY PAGE NUMBERS. (This invokes a scrollable listing of all pages in the upper left of the screen. You can jump to any page by selecting a page number) When printing, the Program uses Windows Print Manager's settings.

If you select PORTRAIT WHOLE PAGE, Print Manager needs to be set to portrait mode. This will print the entire page, on the one sheet of paper, in portrait orientation.

Selecting LANDSCAPE TOP prints the top of the page in landscape orientation. Windows Print Manager must be set to landscape mode.

Selection LANDSCAPE BOTTOM prints the bottom half of the page in landscape orientation. Windows Print Manager must be set to landscape mode.

The lighten & darken features found under CHANGE PICTURE are useful for viewing & printing. You must select to either Brighten or Darken the picture. Each time the Brighten/Darken menu item is selected, the picture is modified slightly. Select Brighten/Darken several times until the optimum result is achieved. ZOOM defaults to 100% Selecting FIT TO SCREEN shows the whole page. You can zoom in or out in 25% increments or to any percentage you specify. Selecting the Forward or Reverse arrows at the lower left of the screen advances one page.
